CareerMinder is a job-seekers' network. As a CareerMinder member, you can share information through the website in a unique way. After building your personal profile page with all your personal work experience and future employment ambitions, you have the opportunity to meet other people who are in the midst of their own job search for similar positions through the Candidate Search function. (See the Getting Started page for more information about searching.)

This is helpful because

1) fellow job-seekers may have knowledge of jobs that are not advertised and will share that knowledge,

2) they may have helpful information regarding the particular style of a company; the requirements, hours, location, and contact person,

3) you may be able to help them find a position and build a new business contact in a company,

4) only other job-seekers know the stress you are experiencing every day; a network can introduce you to people with whom you can share the burden of job-seeking in a business-like manner, and

5) network members can post upcoming job fairs on our Events Page and can share carpooling to job fairs.

Our method is especially unique because we do not charge employment agencies or employers to include their page on our website. One of the reasons that many jobs are not advertised, is the simple COST of advertising. The average cost to employers to list an ad in the newspaper or on a major job search engine is at least $395. Obviously, they will only list the most difficult-to-fill positions; the ones that are the most difficult to achieve.
